FBI Targets Rastafari Journalists

                       FBI Targets Rastafari Journalist
4/22/2003 - McIntosh County, Georgia - Approximately 2:00 pm, Editor in Chief/Executive Editor of the UNN, Underground News Network, Ital Iman I/Da.Uru I left American Beach Florida in the capacity of journalists to cover the April 24, 2003 court appearance/trial of accused Beltway Sniper John Allen Muhammad. About 45 minutes to an hour into their journey via I-95 North, suddenly impelled ahead of speeding four lane traffic - spotted a squad car from the McIntosh County Sheriff's Department slow down, noticed the sheriff car move realizing he could not go out into the traffic from the opposite side of I-95 South. The police now from the rear moves his way onto 95 north, seeking the 1998 Ford 250 white pick-up truck of the two journalists.

Upon seeing the signal light the F250 truck stops and pulls over to the shoulder from the expressway Ordered out of the truck by the short Caucasian officer SGT D. Howard. Badge No.# 1209 Da.Uru I the female journalist, was still in the truck on the passenger side undetected by the officer.

Asking Ital, "Do you know why you were stopped?" Ital - "because I was speeding." SGT D. Howard: - "Your tag (pointing) is loose."

The officer wrote a McIntosh County Sheriff's Department courtesy warning and gave it to Ital Iman I. Ital then asked the officer how much is the fine. The officer replied nothing, its just a warning. Ital walks away towards the truck and was stopped by the officer, who then says,

"You seem to be an honest guy, there are ones who ride up and down this interstate trafficking drugs, if I were to let my dogs go around the truck would they detect anything?"

Ital's reply was "Its possible, we have a blend of natural herbs, sage, mint, etc spiked with crumbs of cannabis, there is a round container with nothing but medicinal herbs and another with about a gram of medicinal herbs and crumbs of cannabis?.

The officer goes over to the passenger side to and spots Da.Uru I the female journalist. He pulls on the door to open it but it is locked nods and waves his hand as the okay to remain in the vehicle. He then walks back to Ital standing to the rear of the truck and calls for backup. He walks over to the driver's side of the truck and orders Da.Uru out of the vehicle. A lieutenant arrives on the scene and the search begins, by this time there are three officers on the scene. After intensive searching, the lieutenant goes to the truck and finds a copy of the book "Word is Bond" by Ital Iman I in Spiritual Support of John Allen Muhammad and John Lee Malvo. He turns to the page which reveals the Parable of the 911 war on New York and after seeing the codes and pictures of the towers he goes to his car to do a background check - comes back and begins to search the rear of the truck.

Before the search and the calling for backup SGT D. Howard - promises Ital that if he found less than an ounce of cannabis that he would let Ital go. Save upon finding less than an ounce the officer's Word was not Bond. Upon coming from the truck the lieutenant asks Ital, "Who is Ced the Dread?" Recalling slowly Ital remembers a bail bondsmen, a dreadlocksmon he had acquired for his wife about a year ago, found it strange the officer asked that question. Ital was very tightly handcuffed (with bruises to prove it) and pushed into the back of the squad car until a cop came to pick up Da.Uru. There were no rights read to either of the journalists, nor was there a female officer present. The journalists were taken to the police station in separate cars, Da.Uru was not handcuffed.

After reaching the "sally port" of the station the journalists were forced to wait for over an hour, in a dark closed garage in the heat of southern Georgia with the doors locked and windows shut tight. The journalist watched as officers frequented in and out of different doors and of course were anticipating the worst as we all are aware of the many cases of police brutality and misconduct especially in small counties in the south. Never having been arrested the two were unfamiliar with the intimidating and humiliating tactics of the "Keepers of the Peace."

After being processed in a jail not yet in operation, Ital was told he was to be interviewed by a Drug Investigative Officer. He was led by said officer to a room and left with two officials of the United States Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Investigation Specialist Joseph Swiateh last name may be misspelled. One specialist was white and the other African American from Savannah, Georgia; the white specialist was from Washington, D.C. The FBI wanted to interview Ital about his mission that day. Ital volunteered the information, was read his rights, and signed a waiver after about 45 minutes of interrogation. A copy of each book was confiscated by the FBI for investigation and study from a container of over 20 copies of four books authored by Ital Iman I.

A receipt for the property received/returned/released/seized was signed FD-597 (Rev.8-11-947) File #265A. ATC 94997 dated 4/22/03 1. Fire in Dub 2. Anatomy of a Revolution 3. Of Prose and Con 4. Word is Bond
After an attempt to interview Da.Uru, who did not waive her rights, the FBI then searched the truck (which was said to be brought to the station by a towing company), took the four books and left the station. After several hours of being held captive, Ital and Da.Uru were given uniformed traffic citation summons and accusation of the McIntosh County Sheriff's Department: Citation Number 47437T Offenses Poss. of Marijuana - Less Oz. In violation of code section 16-13-30(a) of State Law; ordered to appear in court to answer to charges on the 11th day of June, 2003 at 9:00 am in the McIntosh County State at McIntosh County Courthouse 310 Northway; P.O. Box 1661; Phone Number: (912) 437-4512; City: Darien Georgia, 31305.

The two were released on $1,286 bond?

On 4/24/2003, around the hour of the John Muhammad trial Ital received a strange phone call which showed up on the caller ID panel as being from the Roxy Night Club no area code 821-8936. It is believed this was an FBI check to see if the journalists were still in Florida.

Was all this a conspiracy to keep the journalists from the trial of John Allen Muhammad? Or was this a routine stop by a racist cop under the influence of the new Homeland Security mayhem? Why did the cop feel that he should call in the FBI after finding less than an ounce of marijuana and seeing the book Word is Bond? What's the FBI doing with the books? Why are they important to the FBI?
